EQ Preparation - Final Draft

OPENING QUESTIONS: Please show your *current* draft to another member of your team for comments/edits

OBJECTIVE: I will work with my team to develop grading requirements for the Earthquake Prep plan project

I will work with my classmates to approve a grading rubric for the Earthquake Prep plan project

WORDS FOR TODAY:

FORMULAE OBJECTUS:

WORK O' THE DAY

Please DO NOT submit your final EQ Prep plan until your group has completed the following tasks:

1) Appoint/volunteer/elect a project manager to guide your discussions

2) Please work with your team to make a bulleted list of the essential aspects of a quality EQ plan

Here are a couple aspects that I'll give you to start:

  • All aspects of your plan are specific to your home and family
  • You have clearly discussed your plan with your family
  • Your plan is free from 'generic' comments such as "we will make sure to have enough food for a week". Better: There are four members of my family that will require x number of calories per day. We will achieve that by stocking such and such food in such and such containers.

Now please have all project manager meet to review the specs and agree on a final spec/rubric for the EQ plan

When you have completed that, please elect/appoint/volunteer a PM spokesperson to lead the class in a conversation about those specs.

Please determine class approval and have that person email me the final class spec -- I will use that to grade your final EQ plan.

This *should* be a very straightforward grade. If you wing it just to get it done that will be reflected in your grade -- which is to say if you do 'good enough' work you will earn a grade that is 'good enough' -- somewhere in the C- territory.

Take pride in your work.

Show it to a team mate and ask for and act on their suggestions.

PM's: Please write a brief status report for everyone in your group (including yourself) showing their self-reported progress on their EQ plan.

That means it isn't up to you to grade or otherwise determine how far along everyone is in your group. Just ask them and shoot me your findings in an email:

(Not started/In Progress/Substantially Complete/Final Version Complete).

Thank you for your help and for working together.
